ma bad Ephraim!!!! I didn't notice the 'Kimant' part and was just trying to spit out what I know sound like all of us in here got a lot to learn from u about Gonder!! why don't y'all Gonderey's open up a thread (emama Gonder can be its title) and tell us all that u know about that rich historical place!! its kings, its cultures and norms, and we might include some songs about gonder so as to keep ppl from beign bored!!!

and as a result, being inspired by ur deeds, some of the members of esai will tell us about their home towns or any place that they know very well!!! seee??? that way we will learn more about our country and we don't need to read what a certain forgnier wrote about different parts of our countries!!!

how about that Ephisha?

^^^I don't know, if that is intended to insult me or.....anyhow, I really don't think it's necessary to open another thread about gondere minamin, beside im NOT interested and/or willing to engage in that kind of conversation, but thanks for your brillian idea of opening "gondere thread".

I know that this is not right to go back and forth with ya, but how would u think that this is an insult? I was going to ask sirafetu to tell us about Gojjam too, since somewhere mentioned that he knew Gojjam, I would ask Empress but she has already told us in one of her posts. and I was about to go with Jimma since I went to university back there for a year and half!

It is ur 100% right to decline any idea that u think is stupid. but thinkin that it was meant to insult u shouldn't be a good one!

I raised the issue b/c u always say that u r Gonderey and from the "picture of the day" thread, I saw that u know the town very well....so what is evil and insulting in demanding to know about one of the towns in Ethiopia? and If u don't want to open a thread by itself then u can use one that is already opened by Empress...here is the link

http://www.esai.org/services/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3968&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0&sid=a0a4425d124d6fcacb0f985be715537c

u can continue with what u started.....

..hhmmmmmm shame shame shame...is that really coming out of you mouth?

as a matter of fact, yess it is coming out of ma mouth and I can defend it! I wouldn't worry whether it was meant to insult me or not, rather, I would be more concerned about the idea and will revise whether what I have written is a shame or not....which I did and didn't find anything shameful about it!

much respect for u!!

SORRY y'all for the irrelevance of the topic with the thread!!

Aba Kosterenetachew, I really respect the energy you trying to provide for this programe to go ahead. For now let us just work with what we got. Let our expectation be average rather than very high. Because if something got in away of our high expectation, we would feel discourage easly causing a deep intestine outbrust to each of us. Right now, let all Eyes gaze toward your boy Genene -----> then Ephraim ----- so on so on. Everything idea that you brought so far is very important and great for the project. I'm just a strong beliver of " a day by day - one at a time " type of philosophy.

Ephraime, now you really are in my all time important people list. There is no running away from me now - nowhere to hide buddy. I was always curious about people called Kimanet since I read the book "Yetangute mister" by the late Berhanu Zerihune. Matter in fact I read it twice - one I read it myself; the first time I remember my mother reading it for me and my syblinges - very long memory. Anyway, the main character in that book was Tangut, who was alledgely a Kimant. She was supposed to be the wife of Aba Tatek's defense minister, Fitawerari Geberiye of Gayent. Now, that was not the only time I run into the notion of Kimanet.
When I was in Israel, I run into few Ethiopian bete-Israels and they try to explaine me about the term and other things. I didn't fully understand them because of the diference in our cultural upbringing. Anyway, I will call you and talk with you. It would even be great if I contact your uncle too.

In real life I am an advocate of this philosophy (though m not sure if it is a philosophy)...."plan, expect and go for many and accomplishing some is garanteed." but I think u have some points that make perfect sense out there (the one in bold)!! we can go on with that!!

cool!!! that means we have more books and more ppl for the book tour/ club (whatever we might call it)

We have: anbessachin, Genene, Empress, Ephraim, Zal, myself.....six ppl is a great deal guys....

and lets see what we have on the shelf:
I have
-"Ye-Eritrea Guday" by Zewdie Reta,

-"Yekihidet Kulkulet" of Prof Mesfin,

-"Kuankua yemanew"- a very small book in which the author tried to give some solutions for the ethinic unrest in Ethiopia with a sociolinguistic approach.

Anbessa so far has declared: "Yideress lebaletariku" (hope he will put more to the casket!!!)

Zal we need the list of what u have!

this way everybody will have a book to read and ofcourse more time too!
Sure put me down for

"The Abyssinian difficulty" (photocopy) about the British invasion of Ethiopia to release Emperor Tewodros's hostages.

"Ethiopia and the United States" About the early relationships of these two countries. I will look through my shelf for more books.
