This is my gift to the Ethiopians brothers. We know that the African Continent was called with different names at the begining, ( in relation to lenguages and fonetic characteristics, but one of the original names of Africa was, 'Orovia'. The Hebrew, at one point called, 'Abyssinia'. The Greeks, came with the name, ' Ethiopia',( for all the territoies, not just for the actual country). But then came the Rome Empire in the fight for supremacy. There is a famouse, (Battle of Zama, 202 BC,), in which Hannibal de Barca,( African),lost the fight with de Roman General, Cornelious Scipious Africanus, this set the conquering of Africa by the Romans. The Rome, change the name to ,'Africa', in reverence to Scipious Africanus. When the Portuguese finally arrived to West Africa, (in around 1470), by sea,(bording the West Coast). They wanted to change the name of the whole continent to Guinea, but the Muslims, which controlled the North Africa and some of the West, and the Yorubas,(Nigeria), disagree with the name, but the Portuguese called Guinea, ( as it is in their map),to the whole Bay and to West Africa. Thanks to all the people which were following my posting at the International Music Council. The forum is gone , because there are people which wanted to control the Intellectual world. When I made the choice to started articles over there, there was only one person from, Iran doing articles there and the traffic was very slow. I bring diversity to the forum and other people came after me. People like the subject which i was touching and not only I brought people which did n't know the webside before, but the traffic to the forum, increased many times and I became the first, latino, to have a numer one article in the forum, that was to much pressure for the intellectuals and that's why the forum have to go. The same thing happenned when I kick some intellectual at the All ABOUT JAZZ. com., where I have another numer one posting, 'Zaragemca's Bongos, Congas, Timbales and Bata'. That' s the only way they try to win when somebody is on top in the field. Thanks to everybody. Gerry Zaragemca _________________ International Club of Percussionists |
